Fabric Options

FA (Fabric)

This type of fabric has a very classic look. It is our preferred fabric type for emblems with laser-cut or printed borders.

ST (Soft Twill):

Our most popular fabric. It has the aesthetics of traditional twill with a soft texture, mimicking the traditional woven look while still being able to replicate complex designs. Perfect for emblems with the Satin Border option.

FL (Flock)

Stands out for its matte appearance and finish with an ultrasoft touch and feel. Recommended for 1.5” x 1.5” size.

JA (Jacquard)

The unique feature of this fabric lies in its metallic and shimmering look. It visually mimics an embroidery effect but feels like silk.

SF (Soft Felt)

Mimics the feel of plush mink fabric as it is extremely soft. Recommended for 1.5” x 1.5” size.

SA (Satin)

Provides a smooth, shiny finish for a polished and luxurious appearance. Ideal for high-end designs and intricate details.

BACKING OPTIONS

01.

Heatseal

Permanent attachment with heat. Simply use a heat press for 15-20 seconds at 320°F (160°C) for durable adhesion to fabric.

02.

Pressure-Sensitive

Peel-and-stick backing that provides easy application without heat. Ideal for temporary placements or for fabrics that cannot withstand heat.

  • Note: Not available for Patch with Satin Border

03.

Velcro

Provides the ability to easily attach and detach the patch from fabric. Perfect for tactical gear, uniforms, or any item requiring a reusable patch.

  • Note: Please contact us to check if the Velcro option is available for your preferred patch type

border options

01.

Satin Border

A smooth, satin edge that creates a polished, refined finish. Please provide the ISACORD thread code for the border stitching. This border is available exclusively on ST (Soft Twill), SF (Soft Felt), SA (Satin) and JA (Jacquard) fabrics, providing durability and a high-quality appearance.

02.

No Border

The patch is precision cut using laser technology, creating a clean, sharp edge without any stitching. This option offers a sleek, modern look with a more subtle, seamless finish.

Accepted Artwork

SIZE

Size:

  • Standard Size: 1” x 1”
  • Recommended Size: 1.5” x 1.5” (Recommended for best visual clarity and design detail)
  • Maximum Size: 14”x14”

Smaller patches (1”x1”) work well for simpler designs, while larger patches (1.5”x1.5”) provide more space for intricate artwork and improved legibility.

Limitations

Small Text: Text smaller than 4 pt (0.005” thickness) may lose clarity, especially at smaller patch sizes.

Gradients: Sublimation works well with solid colors, but subtle gradients may not appear as smooth or vibrant, particularly on smaller patches.

Fabric Compatibility: Certain backing options may not be compatible with all fabric types (e.g., heatseal backing on delicate or stretchy materials).

Size Limitations: While the standard size is 1”x1”, larger patches (1.5”x1.5” and above) offer more flexibility for intricate designs.

Satin Border on Dark Backgrounds: On fabrics with dark colors, the Satin Border may cause the underlying white threads from the fabric itself to become visible in the border area. Since sublimation only affects the top layer of the fabric, the white thread may show through in the satin border, potentially affecting the patch’s overall appearance. We recommend considering lighter background colors or adjusting the design to minimize this effect.

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

Heat press Application

  • Preheat the fabric for 5 seconds to remove wrinkles.
  • Set Heat Press to 320°F (160°C), 60-70 psi pressure, and 15-20 seconds time.
  • Position the Patch on the fabric, ensuring smooth alignment.
  • Apply Heat Press for the set time, applying even pressure.
  • Cool for a few seconds, then remove the backing and let the patch cool completely before handling.
  • Inspect the patch to ensure a secure bond. Repress if necessary.

Sew-On Application Instructions

  • To securely attach your patch to the garment, we recommend using one of the following stitch types

Runstitch

  • Use a simple, straight stitch along the edges of the patch.
  • Ideal for a clean, basic attachment.

Zigzag Stitch

  • Use a zigzag stitch along the perimeter of the patch for extra durability and to prevent fraying.
  • This stitch provides a bit of flexibility and a stronger hold.

Satin Stitch

  • A dense zigzag stitch that covers the edge completely, giving a smooth, polished finish.
  • Ideal for decorative patches or when a more refined look is desired.

Thread Selection

For the best results, we recommend using Isacord thread due to its durability and smooth finish.

ISACORD Thread Color

Please provide the Isacord thread number you’d like to use for your patch application.

INSTRUCTIONS

  • Position the patch on your garment in the desired location.
  • Pin or temporarily adhesive the patch in place to prevent shifting while sewing.
  • Choose one of the stitch types listed above based on your preference and desired finish.
  • Sew around the edge of the patch, ensuring you stitch through both the patch and the garment fabric.
  • For added security, reinforce the corners or edges with additional stitches.
